Ready To Support Our Campaign?

From Gabriel: Why I’m Running

I was born and raised in this community and care about its future. I will fight every single day to advance and protect our shared values and interests in Sacramento.  I’m running for the 51st District of the California State Assembly because our community deserves a fighter who can hit the ground running when it comes to standing up to the Trump administration and advocating for our community’s interests and values. I will protect the civil rights of all Californians, fight to fully fund education and advance equity in every classroom, support our working families, and work to ensure every resident of Assembly District 51 has the opportunity to achieve the American Dream. I will be a tireless champion for the community that I love and that five generations of my family have called home.

My commitment to public service is deeply rooted in the values instilled in me by my parents, who emigrated from Mexico and worked hard to provide the best for their children every single day. My commitment is also rooted in the Jesuit education that I received at Loyola High School, which taught and inspired me to serve others and to focus on justice.  These are the same values that I will take to Sacramento to fight tirelessly on issues we all care about – from providing a quality education to every student to supporting and protecting the most marginalized in our community, from creating more good-paying jobs to supporting our local and family-owned businesses. I am ready to roll up my sleeves and work with the community to continue to bring meaningful and positive change as a member of the State Assembly.  I look forward to earning the community’s support.
